ABOUT

B. Koh is a conceptual sculpture and installation artist born in Korea and based in Los Angeles. Through his minimal intervention in the ordinary objects and small processes drawn from everyday life, Koh isolates incidental details and reconfigures them into quietly disorienting perceptions of the mundane. Marked by graceful ephemerality and gentle trickery, Koh’s sculptures invite viewers to see with a renewed insight that engages both the mind and attention.

Since his 1998 exhibition Four Works (COMA), Koh has built a consistent artistic practice through a series of solo exhibitions arranged in alphabetical order, from A Sculpture Show (Newspace, 2001) to I Sculpture Show (Commonwealth & Council, 2012). Koh presented a large-scale installation at the 4th Gwangju Biennale (2002) and has participated in group exhibitions at Rosamund Felsen Gallery (1998), the Korean Cultural Center in LA (2001), Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery (2007), Solway Jones Gallery (2009), and others.
